Trucks racing on HWY 191 Caught by Law Enforcement

A deputy on patrol on Highway 191 Saturday night passed two southbound trucks traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy apparently clocked them going above 85 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The area was close to where the two southbound lanes merge into one. The two trucks were apparently racing to be the ahead of the other before they merged into the single lane.

The deputy turned around to pursue the two trucks. He activated his emergency lights and pulled ahead of them. He stopped in the lane, forcing the two trucks to stop. They both pulled over to the side of the road. Both drivers were cooperative and admitted they were speeding.

The deputy pointed out that they could have been criminally cited for their rate of speed and for racing but since they were honest and cooperative the deputy cited them for speeding and let them go.
