SAFFORD — A 22-year-old man and two children — ages 10 and 15 — were rescued at Frye Mesa on June 9 after they were unable to get out of a canyon after sunset.
According to a parent’s post on social media, the children were “jumping through the pools and got stuck up there when it turned dark.”
The call came in at 8:23 p.m. and responding were Graham County Search and Rescue, the Freeport-McMoRan Emergency Rope Team, Thatcher Fire Department and Graham County Sheriff’s Office. Search and Rescue and the Freeport team conducted the rope rescue.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
