Third day in a row with new cases in single digits

SAFFORD — For the third day in a row, and the seventh time so far this month, new cases of COVID-19 in the Gila Valley were in single digits.

Graham County Health Department reported nine new cases Friday, bringing February’s total of new cases thus far to 86 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 5,203.

Most of Friday’s cases — five — were in the 85543 Zip Code, with three in 85546 and one in 85552.

While the case count is lower than previous months, Graham County’s positivity rate remains elevated, at 19.5 percent.

Greenlee County

Greenlee County Health Department reported two new cases Thursday evening.

That brings the total number of new cases in February thus far to 18 and 544 since the start of the pandemic.

Greenlee County’s positivity rate also remain elevated, at 21.4 percent.
