Build a Better World!
Summer Reading Program Sign-Up June 5th at the Safford Library

Looking for something free and fun for all your kids to do this summer?  The Safford Library has the answer for you!  On Monday, June 5th the library will be highlighting all there is to offer over the summer beginning at 10 am.  This year’s theme is all about building, improving our community and learning about the world around us.

For preschoolers, the library will be present special themed storytimes celebrating everything from construction zones to how to build a better you! Little ones will get to see construction equipment up close and meet our favorite community helpers like Police Chief Brugman. Preschool storytimes will be at the regular time of Wednesdays at 10:30 am and Tuesdays at 6:30 pm.  Babies and toddlers will share in the summer theme with Babytime at 10:30 Mondays and Toddlertime at 10:30 am Thursdays. No registration is required for any of these programs.

For kids entering grades K-6, there are two programs offered.  You can join one or both!

Kids in K-2nd grade meet at 11 am and 3rd-6th grade meet at 1 pm.  Kids will build towers and bridges, make dragons and even discover a “sneeze cannon”.  This program has open enrollment which begins on June 5th.   A child MUST be registered in order to participate.  Registration forms are available at the library beginning Monday, June 5th.
  • The second program for kids is online with reading challenges, activities, and games to encourage reading all summer long. Kids can even win prizes just for reading and helping in the community.  Parents can register their children directly online beginning June 5th at saffordlibrary.org.  Staff will also be available to preview the program and help sign-up kids.
