THATCHER — Kathy Grimes with the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition made presentations of appreciation to the Pima and Thatcher Town Councils this month, following the towns’ assistance with a series of events for young people during the summer.
“We had our pool night in Pima,” Grimes said. “We had them all sign in and . . . we tricked them, we educated them without them knowing that. We put diving rings and we put answers on them. And then we asked them questions and throw the answers in the pool and they had find the correct the answer. If they found the answer, they got a prize.”
There was also dummy roping in Thatcher and a street dance in Safford.
Another dummy roping event in Pima was postponed due to inclement weather and will now take place Aug. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m., in the parking lot of the Pima High School gymnasium.
