PIMA — Monsoon rains forced the delay of one event and a stoppage of another over the weekend.

The storms forced the closure of the Pima Pool for Saturday’s Pima Big Splash Bash fund-raiser for the Pima Volunteer Fire Department, but the department was able to move the hot dog and hambuger barbecue to the fire station.

The department also announced the raffle would be extended to Aug. 30, which coincides with a public open house planned at the Fire Station. The free open house will feature hose drills, apparatus displays and food.

Meanwhile, the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition and One More Run announced its Youth Dummy Roping event originally planned for Saturday will now take place Aug. 27.

The event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Pima High School’s new gymnasium and is free to all Gila Valley youths.
