The small school volleyball playoffs start this week. Most of the area schools open their tournament tonight.
In the 2A Conference #17 Northland Prep (14-6) will be at #16 Morenci (13-5) at 6pm and #19 Willcox (12-6) will be at #14 Tempe Prep (10-8), also at 6pm.
#14 Safford (13-4) will host #19 Yuma Catholic (10-6) at 5pm tonight on the lone local 3A slate. Thatcher finished in the top 8 with a 14-3 record and will await a winner from tonight’s play-in round.
#8 Fort Thomas (12-6) will be at home against #9 Valley Lutheran (10-5) to open the 1A playoffs. #12 Duncan (11-6) is on the long road trip to #5 Red Mesa (13-3).
The final 2A and 3A brackets will be revealed tomorrow, once the play-in rounds are complete.
