Spring Break at the Safford Library

Spring Break at the Safford Library

Spring break is coming up and that means the kids will be home and the parents will be wondering what to do to keep them entertained. Thank goodness for the Safford Library! The Safford library has set up almost an entire week’s worth of events for the kids. Not only are the events entertaining for the kids, but interesting for the adults as well.

Tuesday, March 15th will be the day that the Mad Science Program will be free to any child. Usually the child has to be preregistered to work with Mad Science, but on the fifteenth, the program will be free to all who attend. Mad Science will be focusing on the science of loud funky and silly sound. Kindergarten through second grade will be starting the program at eleven a.m. Third through sixth graders will start the program at one o’clock the same day.

Wednesday, March sixteenth, will be Blockbuster Day. There will be two free showings of new movies. The first movie will be a twelve o’clock showing of Pixar’s Minions. The second showing will be at two o’clock and will feature Colin Trevorrow’s, Jurassic World.  Blockbuster Day will be fun and free for all.

Thursday, March seventeenth, features the Safford Library’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. The day will start with a kids’ craft time starting at one o’clock, while the morning will be open playtime. At two o’clock, the library will put on a showing of the movie, Secrets of Roan Inish. This movie is about a ten year old girl named Fiona who is sent to live on small fishing village in Ireland where a mysterious legend sparks the curiosity of her past. Over the period of the movie, Fiona begins a quest to find out the secret of the Roan Inish. After the showing of the movie, there will be a guest fiddler who will perform traditional Irish fiddling.
