Special Olympics starting focus groups on relationship, sex education

PHOENIX — Special Olympics Arizona is beginning a new program focusing on sex education and healthy relationships for its athletes.

To determine the needs of its participants, Special Olympics Arizona is conducting a series of focus groups via Zoom. Athletes will be asked to share their thoughts on relationships, boundaries, dating, friendship, consent, sex and more.

Focus groups in English will take place:

● March 8, at 11 a.m., for athletes 18 and older

● March 10, at 5 p.m., for athletes 14-17 years old

●March 11, at 5 p.m., for athletes 18 and older

Focus groups in Spanish will take place:

● March 8, at 5 p.m., for athletes 14-17 years old

● March 12, at 5 p.m., for athletes 18 and older
