SAFFORD — The owner of Copper and Cotton Lifestyle Co. says it’s never too hot to shop in the Gila Valley.

To promote shopping local during the summer, Tricia Garrett and other store owners are bringing back a Christmas season favorite — punch cards.

“You’re going to get your cards punched and support businesses,” Garrett said. “Support businesses by going from business to business to business, and in the end, hopefully, win a great prize for doing it.”

Cards will be available each Friday starting June 2 and running through Aug. 25. Once a card is fully punched, the shopper is entered into a drawing the last Saturday of each month for gift cards to each of the participating stores. Garrett said the more businesses that participate, the greater the value of each monthly drawing.

She said participation is open to every business in Graham County, and interested businesses can e-mail gilavalleymade@gmail.com to learn how to take part.
