Sheriff PJ Allred prevails in wrongful death lawsuit

An eight-person Federal jury has returned a unanimous verdict in favor of Graham County Sheriff, PJ Allred, in a lawsuit filed against him by Deborah Sanchez for the death of her daughter, Jordan Simms. Simms died after jumping from the back seat of a Graham County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle at a speed of 30 – 35 miles per hour on December 26, 2019. The verdict was reached on February 15, 2024 after an eight-day jury trial.
