Shaun Vincent Rios

Shaun Vincent Rios, quietly entered into eternal rest on September 2, 2020, at the age of 32.  He was born on November 22, 1987, in Safford to Louis B. Rios & Sheri Angle Rios, joining all of his siblings; Rachel, Krissi, Louie Jr., and Michelle.

Shaun graduating in 2007 from Thatcher High School where he was the #1 fan for Eagles football and loved being in the high school band. Shaun’s bucket list was to see all high school football fields.  He also loved EAC football games and didn’t miss any of them. He enjoyed high school band day and loved the EAC band days as well. He was also a very faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Shaun was the definition of the true love of Christ and cared about & loved everyone.  

He was full of life and enjoyed many things such as; WWE Wrestling Events, and was ecstatic when he was able to meet the wrestle-mania superstars in person, 80’s TV binge-watching, swimming, and diving off of the high diving board, rollerblading with one rollerblade, skateboarding, a carnival connoisseur, and a football fanatic.  Shaun was in the Special Olympics for 5 years where he earned 11 gold medals, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals.  On the 4th of July, Shaun always shot off the 1st firework with the Safford firefighters and rode in the fire trucks with them. He really got a kick out of scaring people with his scary Halloween masks.  Shaun was a joy to be around and his smile would light up a room.

Shaun is survived by his parents Louie & Sheri Rios, his siblings Rachel (Rick) Motes, Krissi (Chris) Jacob, Louie Rios, Jr., and Michelle (Brett) Lee. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Heath, Kyle, Wyatt, Brett, Cole, and Marley Moates, Hannah, Summer, Bo, and Gunner Jacob, Hunter Tanner, De, and Buggy Rios, and Lexi and Jaxon Lee.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Howard & Janet Angle, Helen Angle, Alberto Rios, Lydia Perez, Bedos Luzania, Mandi Rios, and Eric Perez. 

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pima Stake Center, and again on Wednesday, September 9th beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. also at the Pima Stake Center.  Interment will be in the Thatcher Cemetery following services.
