WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Senate unanimously approved the Providing Accountability Through Transparency Act — bipartisan legislation introduced by Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema requiring every new federal regulation be accompanied with a 100-word, easier to understand summary, making government more accessible, accountable, and transparent to everyday Arizonans.

“Plain language summaries of new federal regulation ensures the federal government is more accountable and transparent to everyday Arizonans,” said Sinema, chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Government Operations.

Sinema has long championed bipartisan efforts to cut red tape for Arizonans. Sinema, alongside Republican Ranking Member James Lankford (Okla.), introduced the Providing Accountability Through Transparency Act, bipartisan legislation making the government work better for Arizonans through commonsense regulatory reform.
