Scholarship information at Cash for College

THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College and the Arizona Community Foundation is bringing back the seventh annual Cash for College Scholarship Awareness Night.

The free event is an opportunity for students and their families in Graham and Greenlee counties to learn more about funding opportunities for two- and four-year colleges, as well as trade schools and certificate programs.

“It’s not just for high school seniors; it’s for anyone in high school. Most of the college applications (and) many of the deadlines are coming up,” said Ted Prina with ACF of the Gila Valley. “So, if you’re a junior or a sophomore, mom and dad you need to think about getting them at least thinking about the idea that they might be going to college, and if they are, you sure can help them get some money to take care of some of those costs.”

In addition to speaking with representatives from various schools and local scholarship providers, attendees can also apply for more than 100 different scholarships, totaling more than $2 million, with one application through the Arizona Community Foundation online portal, at Apply Online – Arizona Community Foundation (azfoundation.org).

Cash for College will take place Monday, Jan. 23, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Eastern Arizona College’s Gherald L. Hoopes Activity Center.
