SAFFORD — Mary Bingham, the Treasurer for Graham County, has announced her retirement and that means the Board of Supervisors will be asked to select someone to complete her term.
“Advertisements (are) running in the Courier to submit resumes to the Board, to consider an appointment in her place. And that replacement appointment will happen on Feb. 20,” said County Manager Dustin Welker.
The County Treasurer oversees the collection of property taxes as well manages the county’s investments. The Treasurer’s Office also handles tax liens and tax lien sales.
Bingham was first elected Treasurer in 2016 and won re-election in 2020. The appointment will fill the remainder of her second term, finishing in 2024.
Prior to being elected Treasurer, Bingham served on the Safford City Council as both a council member and as vice mayor.
