SAN CARLOS — The San Carlos Apache Tribe is offering everyone the opportunity to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The tribe announced Monday the vaccine is being made available to all residents of Graham, Greenlee and Gila counties, a move that Laprell Diaz, chief nursing officer for the tribal healthcare system, said will actually help protect tribal members.

“One of our biggest efforts is really just strengthening what we’ve built . . . our mitigation efforts. What can we do to really strengthen our defense,” Diaz said.

The drive-through vaccination clinic open to everyone will take place Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at San Carlos High School.

Pfizer vaccine will be made available to everyone 16 and older, while the Moderna vaccine will be available to those 18 and older. Parent or legal guardian consent is required for vaccination of those under 16.

A picture ID is required and vaccination card should be presented if applicable.
