SAFFORD — Gila Valley Samaritan Home is putting out the call for help.
The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the unhoused is seeking donations of non-perishable food items to be distributed to the area’s homeless.
Items of need include:
- Canned soups and prepared foods
- Canned vegetables and fruits
- Jerky
- Peanut butter and jelly
“Every donation, big or small, makes a difference,” Samaritan Home officials said in a posting to social media.
According to the 2024 Point-in-Time survey, there were 49 homeless individuals in Graham County — 28 in Safford, one in Pima and 20 in Bylas.
