SAFFORD — Motorists should plan for extra time when traveling on 20th Avenue in Safford next week.

The City of Safford announced resurfacing of the roadway between Relation Street and just north of the Highland Canal will result in lane restrictions, starting Wednesday, April 12, and extend to Friday, April 14.

The restrictions will impact commercial properties on the west side of the roadway. For entrance to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center and related businesses around the hospital, access will be from Relation Street to 16th Street, on the west side of 20th Avenue.

To access other properties on the west side of 20th, motorists are asked to park on the east side of the street and walk across, with assistance from Safford, ADOT or contractor employees.

Parking has been made available at Casa de Flores Apartments, and at Arizona Blood Specialists for patients of Gila Valley Clinic.
