Richard Allan Gardner

Richard Allan Gardner, of Thatcher, entered into life eternal Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, with his wife, Zilpha, at his side. He was 76 years old.

Allan studied agriculture at University of Arizona. His true love was in farming and ranching and he was a cowboy at heart.

His hobbies and talents included woodworking, gardening, building, camping and cheering for the Diamondbacks. He was a jack of all trades and mastered the hobbies he loved. He was a very resourceful man. He could always turn nothing into something beautiful. If you could dream it, he could build it.

Allan had a great love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for his family. Everything he did centered around them. He especially cherished his sweetheart of 50 years. Together they served a senior mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a young man he also served in the Eastern States Mission. Nothing brought him greater joy than serving in the Gila Valley Temple with his sweet wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Allan is survived by: his wife, Zilpha; and his children, Doug (Maria), Jeff (Lizeth), Randall (Jennifer), Tiffany (Wes Gilmore), daughter-in-law, Becky, Gary (Heidi) and Corrianne (Nathan Coons). He was a proud grandpa of 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Lowell; and his parents, Charles and Corrinne.
