PIMA — Pima town government is getting ready to move into its new home.
The Graham County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting Tuesday, May 9, at 6 p.m., for the town’s new offices in the old Graham County Justice Court building.
“We’re very excited to move into this new building. The old building served us well but now we’re going to have more room to do the things we need to do,” Town Manager Vernon Batty said in a prepared statement.
Town officials will conduct tours of the new space until the start of this month’s Town Council meeting at 7 p.m. There will also be light refreshments for the first 150 attendees, as well as giveaways of shirts and hats with the town’s new logo.
The space became available when Graham County Courts consolidated the two Justice Courts into one, housed in the Graham County Courthouse in Safford, effective this past January.
Town officials said there are no specific plans yet for the old Town Hall building, although at previous Town Council meetings it was discussed that the building could be used by the town’s Police Department.
The new Town Hall, which will house four members of town staff as well as the new Town Council meeting chamber, is located at 110 W. Center St., next to the old Town Hall.
