Pearl Allred Mullenaux, a lifelong resident of Thatcher, entered into life eternal Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2021, at the Haven of Safford with her family at her bedside. Pearl was 93.
Pearl Mullenaux was born on December 8, 1927, the eighth of ten children born to Joseph and Maybelle Allred. She had five brothers and four sisters. Pearl is a lifelong resident of the Gila Valley. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Mullenaux, on April 19, 1945, and together they raised seven children, five girls, Susan May, Melanie, Camalee, Alexa Ann, Jan and two boys, Cory and Randy. Her posterity has grown steadily over the years with 32 grandkids, 114 great grandkids and 23 great great grandkids. She had to become very independent at an early age, when she was just 9 years old her mother died from surgical complications. 11 years later her father passed away.
Pearl was always busy serving others. She was a loving and caring mother for her 7 kids. Having lost her mother at such an early age she made sure her kids were well cared for. Each year she would sew 5 new dresses for each of her 5 girls before school started and again in the spring. She was her children’s biggest fan and always attended school and sporting events when they were involved. Pearl was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings but her favorite by far was her service as an ordinance worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years; two daughters; five brothers; three sisters; a son-in-law; and a daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services for Pearl will be conducted Saturday morning, May 29, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., at the Thatcher Cemetery by Bishop Wayne Nelson of the Thatcher Fourth Ward.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 28, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
