Norma Weddle

Norma Beth Weddle, 87, a long-time resident of Fort Thomas passed away peacefully in her home January 6, 2019. She was born December 19, 1931, in Fort Thomas, Arizona, to Oscar William “Will” and Mary Brown Tyler. She was married to Darvin Wray Weddle on May 29, 1950 and were blessed with seven children.

Always busy and productive, Norma was an accomplished homemaker while she worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1993 as Postmaster of the Fort Thomas post office. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. As an avid gardener, she enjoyed her time caring for her beautiful garden and sharing her produce with family and neighbors. Her outstanding cooking skills were a delicious treat in her home and at community gatherings. Additionally, she was a talented seamstress. She welcomed everyone with a smile and made everyone feel welcome and loved. She made her home and community a much better place.

She is survived by: her six living children, Kathleen Shine (Terry) of Mesa, Arizona, Dennis Weddle (deceased) Connie Weddle of Florence, Arizona, Bruce Weddle (Beth) of Ft. Thomas, Arizona, Jennifer Lunt (Dale) of Duncan, Arizona, Marianne Sampson (Bill) of St. George, Utah, Jeff Weddle (Lark) of Woodland Hills, Utah, and Philip Weddle (Michele Shelor) of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Darvin; and son, Dennis. She leaves behind 30 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Funeral services for Norma will be conducted Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fort Thomas Chapel by Bishop Wyatt Palmer of the Ft. Thomas Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Ashurst Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Saturday morning, January 19, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fort Thomas Chapel Relief Society Room.
