Nicholas Evan Thompson

Funeral services for Nicholas Evan Thompson, a resident of Pima, will be conducted Friday afternoon, April 22, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the Pima L.D.S. Chapel by Bishop Mike Brown of the Pima Fourth Ward.  Concluding services with military honors conferred by the Gila Valley Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Bryce Cemetery.

Nicholas was born on December 22, 1942. He lived in Pima, Arizona the last few years of his life and in the Gila valley for over 30 years. Nicholas entered into rest early Thursday morning, April 14, 2016, at the Banner University Medical Center in Tucson.  He was 73.

Nicholas is survived by: his son, Evan Thompson (Diana); his daughter, Nicole Hancock (Brian); a brother, Rohm Thompson (Barbara); and eleven grandchildren, Kourtnie Hancock Lamoreaux, Tayler Hancock, Heather Hancock, Makayla Hancock, Kayl Thompson, Brian Hancock, John Hancock, Ansley Thompson, Adalyn Thompson, Ty Thompson, Aubrey Thompson. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mary Etta Rohm Thompson; and his father, Hugh E. Thompson.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., at the Pima L.D.S. Chapel Junior Sunday School Room.

The family would like to say thank you to the neighbors; Irvin Talley, Mike Brown, Kendra Mattice, and Kyle Lines who helped in the first response to the fire at his residence. Would also like to thank the first responders, Pima Fire Department, Mount Graham Regional Medical Center, and Banner University Medical Center for his care up until his passing.
