More than 100 new coronavirus cases to start November

SAFFORD — November is starting out as a difficult month when it comes to COVID-19 cases in Graham County.

Graham County Health Department announced 21 new cases Friday, making the total 118 through the first six days of the month. That’s nearly double the next closest month, when there were 64 cases through the first six days of July.

Of Friday’s new cases, eight are in Safford, there are five each in Thatcher and the San Carlos Apache Reservation, and three in Pima.

Graham County’s total is at 1,364, with 463 of the cases considered active and 31 deaths.

Greenlee County Health Department reported three new cases late Thursday evening.

That brings Greenlee’s total to 109, with 47 of the cases considered active and two deaths.
