Michael Anthony Guerra entered eternal life on September 2, 2016. Mike was born November 22, 1961 to Nicolas B. Guerra and Norberta H. Guerra in Morenci, Arizona. Mike was the youngest of four, and he and his siblings, Nick, Alice, and Michelle were raised in Morenci where Mike graduated High School in 1979.
As a young man he worked at Naccaratties pumping gas and become very well renown to his fellow residents in Morenci. As a man he worked for Phelps Dodge Copper Mine for eight years as a truck driver before moving to Safford. He then worked for the Graham County Highway Department as a sign tech and loved that his job allowed him to view all the hidden beauties of the desert.
He was married to Joni Lucero (Gonzales) and together they were blessed with two children Michael Nicolas Guerra on June 12, 1992 and Sara Jillian Guerra on March 9, 1997. Mike was a very devout family man who enjoyed the presents of his family and friends more than anything. His charming laugh and smile lifted the spirits of many, and made a lasting impression on all that would get to know him. Mike had a magnetic personality and sense of humor that naturally drew people to him. He was quick to show love to anyone who befriended him, and in turn was loved by all who met and knew him.
Mike was survived by: his two children, Michael and Sara; his siblings, Nick (Rebecca), Alice Maza and Michelle Brewer (Duane); and many nieces of nephews, all of whom loved and enjoyed his presence very much.
Funeral services for Mike will be conducted Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Desert Springs Community Fellowship Church. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m., at the Desert Springs Community Fellowship Church.
