Man seeks stranger’s keys to drive to ‘Cheese Island’

SAFFORD — A man who reportedly told law enforcement he was under the influence of meth walked into a stranger’s home and requested the keys to a car in order to drive to “Cheese Island” in the sky to meet his friends.

The man, identified as Christopher Garcia, was carrying gardening shears when he walked into the stranger’s house on 16th Street, and told Safford Police it was because he was “channeling his inner Michael Myers” and he thought was “in an audition.”

There were no injuries reported in the incident.

Garcia was transported to his residence and turned over to the custody of his mother.
