GREENLEE COUNTY — The Lookout fire in northern Greenlee County continues to grow, and is up to 370 acres with 0-percent containment.
The fire, near Forest Road 25 west of Reno Lookout Tower, was first discovered July 24.
About 6 miles to the northeast is the Clear Cut Tank fire, west of Hannagan Meadow near Lost Lake. The fire, discovered July 16, grew slightly to 108 acres.
Both fire were started by lightning
Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest reports two hand crews, three engines, one water tender and two dozers have been assigned to fight the fires.
The fire is resulting in the closure of Forest Service lands along Forest Road 24, from FR26 to FR576.
A third fire in Greenlee County was discovered Friday, Aug. 1
The Bear Mountain fire, in the Blue Range Primitive Area near Little Blue Creek, is at nearly 8 acres. Cause has not yet been determined.
