SUPERIOR — Arizona Department of Transportation announced lane restrictions will take place on U.S. Highway 60, between Miami and Superior, next week.
Highway 60 will be reduced to one lane, with alternating east- and westbound travel, between mileposts 227-229, Monday, Aug. 4, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and between mileposts 240-243, Monday, Aug. 4, through Thursday, Aug. 7, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, and Friday, Aug. 8, from 5 a.m. to noon.
Flagging operations and pilot cars will be in effect, and speed will be reduced to 25 miles an hour in the work zones.
Highway 60 will also closed in both directions between mileposts 227-243, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 7.
During the full closures, eastbound Highway 60 drivers will be detoured southbound on State Route 177 through Winkleman to northbound SR 77. Westbound US 60 drivers will use southbound SR 77 through Winkleman to northbound SR 177.
The detour is estimated to add an additional hour for trips between Superior and Miami, and due to the roughly 75-mile length of this detour, drivers may want to consider planning travel before 9 a.m. and after 2 p.m.
