Kirk Worthey

Danny Kirk Worthey, “Kirk,” 55, of Safford, passed away February 28, 2019, at the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center, from a massive heart attack.

He is survived by: his beloved wife, Sylvia Worthey, who was at his side; his mother, Barbara (“Lynnie”) Dozier Morgan, of Texas; his father, Danny Maurice Worthey, of Texas; son, Devin Worthey, of Texas; Cindal Aranda, of Safford; AJ Skinner, of Taylor; Ilene Butts, of Safford; numerous grandchildren, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and cousins; his childhood barrel racing horse, Bee Bop; and his fur baby, Biscuit.

Kirk was a long-term employee at Freeport and known as Mr. Clean. Also, being a lifelong Trekkie fan, he was widely known as Captain Kirk.

He loved rock hounding, dump-digging treasure hunts and, above all, loved tormenting his grandchildren.

Funeral services for Kirk will be conducted Friday, March 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Vining Funeral Home’s “Chapel of the Valley.” Concluding services will follow in the Pima Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday morning, March 8, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
