Just 8 new cases in Graham County

SAFFORD – It was another light day in the Gila Valley when it comes to coronavirus.

Graham County Health Department reported eight new cases Wednesday, with five in the Safford area and three in Thatcher.

It’s the first time the case count was in single digits in more than a month and the second day in a row that the case count was fewer than 20.

The new cases bring Graham County’s total to 2,673 since the start of the pandemic, with 994 of the cases considered active. There have been 41 deaths, with 37 of the victims over the age of 65.

Graham county’s positivity rate is 27.3 percent.

Greenlee County

Greenlee County Health Department reported three new cases Tuesday evening.

That brings Greenlee County’s total to 345 since the start of the pandemic, with 134 of the cases considered active. There have been three deaths.

Greenlee County’s positivity rate is 10.4 percent.
