Jesse Horner, of Safford, entered into rest Thursday evening, September 8, 2016, at his residence. He was 89.
Jesse Wellington Horner was born April 29, 1927, in Herkimer, New York, to Jesse G. and Meta Horner. He served in the United States Navy until the end of WWII.
Jesse met and later married Evelyn Tyson. They were married for forty-eight years. Jesse worked for twenty years in New York, as a mechanic and also as a truck driver for the oil industry. They later would relocate to Safford where Jesse worked for the Department of Corrections for ten years.
Jesse loved fishing, hunting and woodworking. He loved his family and helped them with anything that was needed. He will be greatly missed.
Jesse is preceded in death by: his wife, Evelyn; and two sons, James and Martin.
Jesse is survived by: two sons, Raymond and Gary (Sue); a daughter, Sheri (Earl); ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
