SAFFORD — Mt. Graham Safe House and community partners invite the public to attend the In Her Shoes: An Interactive Simulation About Domestic Violence event Thursday, Oct. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at The Venue on Main.
This impactful event is designed to raise awareness about the realities of domestic violence through a hands-on simulation that allows participants to walk through the experiences of survivors. The evening will also feature resource tables, drawings, and light refreshments, offering attendees both education and support.
In Her Shoes is made possible through the collaboration of several local organizations, including:
- Gila Valley Samaritan Home
- Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition
- Child & Family Resources Inc.
- Easterseals Blake Foundation Early Head Start Home Base
- Society of St. Vincent de Paul U.S.A.
- San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation
The symbolic display of red shoes at the event serves as a visual reminder of the lives affected by domestic violence and the importance of community support and intervention.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact Brandy Burnett at Mt. Graham Safe House.
