THATCHER — Three holiday traditions are back, courtesy of Double R Communications.

In partnership with Graham County Electrical Co-op, Country Financial and LifeNet Arizona, Double R Communications announced homeowners can sign-up now to take part in the Gila Valley 2021 Holiday Light Map.

Decorated homes will be on the map for download at GilaValleyCentral.net and the top 20displays will each be awarded a $100 Visa gift card.

Starting Dec. 1 will be the 12 Days of Christmas give aways on the Kat Kountry Facebook page. Each day, a prize from a local business will be given away to a person who likes the page, comments and shares the post.

“We started this next deal that we’re going to talk about, we started it last year, and I was blown away . . . blown away,” said Double R Communications owner Reed Richins. “We did Breakfast with Santa for years and years — I’m talking 20 years — and last year, obviously, we couldn’t do it because of COVID. And so we started this with our friends over at Mann Mortgage, because they were a big sponsor of Breakfast with Santa. And we thought let’s do Operation Secret Santa, where we get local businesses to help out local families. And it was amazing; I can’t even explain how amazing it was. And we have some of these same businesses back with us this year, to help out local families.”

Participating businesses include:

Mann Mortgage — $1,000 Visa gift card

Horne Freedom Ford — $500 Service Department credit and a $500 gas card

Advanced Air — New heating unit

Carter’s Custom Cuts — Half a hog

Valley Furniture — Two freezers (one each to two families)

Thriftee — $250 groceries

Tyson Richins – $250 groceries

Haralson’s — A set of tires

Maverick Motorsports — $250 gift card

Trek RV — $250 gift card

Country Financial — $400 toward utilities payment

With more to be added
