SAFFORD — The online celebration of Hispanic Heritage in the Gila Valley will kick-off Tuesday with an in-person celebration.
A proclamation proclaiming Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month will be read on the lawn in front of Safford City Hall Tuesday at 10 a.m., followed by the raising of a Hispanic heritage banner to span Main Street during the month.
There will be guest speakers from Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation, as well as displays of the items to be raffled throughout the month, raising funds for scholarships to Eastern Arizona College.
