THATCHER — Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation announced this week a new college scholarship opportunity.

“It was donated by Frances Aguirre, of M&F Aguirre transportation LLC. She wants to give a scholarship to a single mother — either Hispanic or black — who is ready to complete a degree at Eastern Arizona,” said Lupe Munoz, secretary/treasurer for Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation.

Application for the scholarship is through Eastern Arizona College Foundation.

Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation has a dual mission — to promote, celebrate and teach Hispanic history, art and culture to the residents of Graham and Greenlee counties; and to promote education through scholarships to Eastern Arizona College.

Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation offers four full scholarships to EAC, as well as a number of partial scholarships.
