GWP Native Plant Sale going on now

SAFFORD — The Gila Watershed Partnership is giving the public a chance to help the local ecology while making their homes appear more beautiful.

The GWP’s Fall Native Plant Sale is taking place now through Oct. 16.

“I think we do have a community that understands that we need to be smart with our water. And I think we have a community that’s also very self-reliant,” said Melanie Tluczik, GWP executive director, during a recent appearance on Voice of the Valley.

Buyers can go online to view hundreds of native trees, succulents, cacti, grasses and pollinator plants. Buyers will make their purchase online and schedule a time for pick-up on a Friday at the Gila native plant nursery on the Eastern Arizona College Discovery Park campus.

Buyers will also receive instruction on proper care for the new plants.
