Griffin to chair Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee; vice chair of Rules

PHOENIX — Speaker of the state House Rusty Bowers announced committee assignments and chairmanships for the upcoming legislative session.

Rep. Gail Griffin, R-Hereford, who represents Graham and Greenlee counties, is the chair of the Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee; and is vice chair of the Rules Committee.

She will also serve on the Appropriations Committee; and on the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee with her district seatmate, Lupe Diaz, who was recently appointed to fill the final year of Becky Nutt’s term, after Nutt resigned effective Nov. 1.

Diaz will also serve on the Education, and the Ways and Means committees.

The 55th Legislature, second regular session, will begin Jan. 10, 2022.
