SAN CARLOS — On Thursday, the San Carlos Apache Tribe initiated Stage 2 fire restrictions, due to ongoing drought on the reservation.
Under the Stage 2 fire restrictions, camping and campfires are prohibited, and smoking is only allowed in an enclosed building or vehicle. Devices fueled by propane or butane are allowed in cleared areas.
Sunrise Dances may have a kitchen and main dance fire, and camp meetings and church groups may have one main cooking fire.
