SAFFORD — The number of new coronavirus cases in the Gila Valley continues to decline, with just 20 new cases in Graham County over the past week.
Those new cases bring the total in March to 56 through March 18, 54 percent fewer cases than February at the same time and 95 percent fewer than January.
The young adult age group continues to see most of the new cases, with 20 to 44 year olds accounting for 11 of the last week’s cases. The 45 to 54 age group saw five cases, 55 to 64 year olds had two cases and there were two cases in those 65 and older.
There were no new cases reported in those younger than 20 years old.
Graham County has experienced 5,346 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic last year, as well as 77 deaths.
Greenlee County
Greenlee County Health Department reported just one new case over the past seven days, bringing March’s total number of new cases to four through March 18.
That total number of new cases is 85 percent fewer than the number of new cases in February at the same time.
Greenlee County has experienced 567 cases and 10 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
