Graham County’s COVID-19 case count tops 2,000

SAFFORD — The Gila Valley experienced its worst day Tuesday when it comes to new coronavirus cases.

Graham County Health Department reported 75 new cases and one COVID-19 related death Tuesday.

Locations of the cases and the victim were not immediately available, and Health Department officials said that information would be released at a later date.

Twenty-six of the new cases involved people age 20 to 44, 16 were in people under 20 years old, 13 in those older than 65 years old, 11 in those 45-54 and nine in those 55-64.

Graham County has experienced 762 new cases and five deaths in November thus far, and the county’s positivity rate is at 25.4 percent.

The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is 2,008, with 873 cases considered active. There have been 34 deaths.

Greenlee County

Greenlee County Health Department reported five new cases Monday evening.

That brings Greenlee County’s total number of new cases in November thus far to 86, with a 7.5 percent positivity rate.

The total number of cases in Greenlee County since the start of the pandemic is 189, with 75 cases considered active and two deaths.
