SAFFORD — Following Greenlee County’s announcement earlier this month, Graham County is also in the market for help with redistricting.

The county announced it was soliciting bids from consultants to help draw up new districts once Census data is made available.

Tony Sissons with Research Advisory Services, the consultant most Arizona counties used for redistricting over the past few decades, died in December, forcing counties to look elsewhere for help.

Whoever is selected is being asked to compile a detailed demographic atlas, develop a voting model for Graham County, and identify and analyze minority voting as well as examine the geographic extent of any racially polarized voting among other tasks to determine the most equitable supervisory districts.

Consultants have until April 15 to submit a qualified bid.
