SAFFORD — The Gila Watershed Partnership is ready to roll out its Spring Native Plant Sale and, just like last year, the event will happen online.

“The idea is that you go to our website — which is www.gwpaz.org — and there’s a nursery tab. You can purchase all of your plants online,” said GWP Director Melanie Tluczek. “We have a full store, the entire purchase is done virtually and then you make an appointment with us to pick up on a Friday.”

Pick-up will take place Fridays by appointment at the Gila Plant Nursery on the Eastern Arizona College Discovery Park campus.

In addition to purchasing online, plant experts will be on-hand to answer questions

The Spring Native Plant Sale starts March 22 and runs through April 16 and features plants indigenous to this area, which means less landscape watering.

Proceeds from the sale help GWP in its effort to protect and improve the local ecology, as well as develop ecological recreation for Graham and Greenlee counties.
