Gila Valley football still on a roll

For the 3rd straight week the Gila Valley has been dominate on the football field. Since two local teams were playing each other, the valley couldn’t go undefeated but it was still an impressive week.

#19 Safford 33 #9 Sahuarita 22

Safford used the rankings as motivation heading into this one and dominated the Mustangs at the line of scrimmage to the tune of 355 yards rushing on the night. QB Jer#1ick Arbizo lead the way with 165 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also added an interception on defense. RB Sam Tobias finished with 107 yards and the final TD of the night to cap the big win. Safford has won 3 straight after losing their first three. Their schedule sets up for a great finish for the Dogs, they could run the table to finish 7-3.

#1 Thatcher 56 #7 Pima 12

Thatcher scored early and often in this one. They built a 35 point halftime lead and didn’t let off the gas as they faked a punt for touchdown in the 3rd quarter to make it 42-0. Thatcher looks to be hitting their stride at 7-0 before having to go on the road to St. Johns and Round Valley.
