SAFFORD — The Gila Valley Arts Council is now part of the Congressional Record.
On April 14, U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., entered a statement of congratulations into the record honoring the Gila Valley Arts for its 40th anniversary.
“Through partnerships with schools and community organizations across Graham and Greenlee counties, the Gila Valley Arts Council has opened doors for students to experience world-class artistry. In the 2025-26 season alone, the Council reached a total of 4,689 students and community members,” Ciscomani said.
The Arts Council was presented with a framed copy of Ciscomani’s statement by Graham County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vance Bryce at the Arts Council’s most recent board meeting.
The Arts Council also announced the performers coming to the Gila Valley for the 2026-27 season. They are:
- Sept. 23, 2026 — Jacome Flamenco
- Nov. 4, 2026 — Folk Legacy Trio
- Feb. 3, 2027 — Frisson Ensemble
- March 3, 2027 — Spanish Brass

In addition to the public concerts Wednesday evenings at the David M. Player Center for the Arts, Gila Valley Arts Council partners with the Friends of the Safford City-Graham County Library for a free, daytime short performance in the library’s programming room.
Membership renewals and tickets for the evening performances will go on sale soon.
