Four more Gila Valley deaths attributed to coronavirus

SAFFORD — Add four more to Graham County’s death total as a result of COVID-19.

Graham County Health Department reported Tuesday four new deaths over the previous five days, bringing the county’s total number of dead from coronavirus to 95 since the start of the pandemic.

The Health Department also reported 162 new cases, bringing September’s total number of new cases thus far to 296, more than half the total number recorded in the entire month of August.

The Safford/Solomon area (85546 Zip Code) has the majority of cases in September thus far, with 176. The Pima/Fort Thomas/Bylas area (85543 Zip Code) has 79 cases and the Thatcher area (85552 Zip Code) has 25 cases.

Graham County continues to offer free vaccinations for anyone over the age of 12, including the FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine, at the vaccination clinic on Main Street at Safford.
