Fort Thomas Shows Fight But Can’t Hold Off Superior’s Surge

SUPERIOR — Fort Thomas struck first on the road Friday night, but Superior stormed back with 34 unanswered points to stay hot in a 34–6 win.

Fort Thomas quarterback Kobe Pearson opened the scoring in the first quarter, connecting with Michael Olivar on a 35-yard touchdown pass to give the Apaches a 6–0 lead. Superior quickly responded with a 62-yard touchdown pass to even the game at 6–6.

After the early back-and-forth, the Panthers took control. A 10-yard rushing touchdown gave Superior a 12–6 edge in the second quarter, and they added two more scores before halftime to stretch the lead to 26–6 at the break.

Fort Thomas battled but couldn’t keep pace in the second half. Superior tacked on another rushing touchdown late in the third quarter, plus a two-point conversion, to make it 34–6.

The Apaches’ defense had some highlights, including sacks from Traeson Mull and Pearson, but it wasn’t enough to slow Superior’s offense.

With the loss, Fort Thomas drops to 1–4 on the season, while Superior improves to 4–1.
