Fire weather warning for Tuesday

TUCSON — The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Gila Valley on Tuesday.

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are optimal for the spread of fire — warmer temperatures, low humidity and strong winds.

Temperatures Tuesday are expected to top out at about 75, but winds are expected to come out of the southwest at 21 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Those winds are expected to continue into the evening, with gust up to 30 mph. Tuesday night’s low is expected to be 41.

We will see a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday evening and into Friday, when the chance of rain increases to 30 percent.
