GRAHAM COUNTY — A Graham County man lost his home to fire Halloween weekend.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies reported the fire at a home on West Evans Lane was called in a little after 2 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29. The sole occupant said he was awakened by the smell of smoke and was able to exit the home safely.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when Safford Fire Department arrived to extinguish the blaze.
Safford Fire officials said preliminary investigation indicated that, due to the pattern of the fire, the incident was likely caused by a faulty water heater.
