SAFFORD — There are just a few more chances to win food while helping qualifying seniors with high utility bills.
City of Safford announced that, as of the July Fourth holiday, only 138 tickets remained in the Give From the Heart half-beef raffle.
Only 500 tickets were made available for the raffle of a half-cow from Carter’s Custom Cuts, valued at $2,100. The winner will be announced during SalsaFest.
Tickets are $20 each or six for $100, and can be purchased at Safford City Hall or the Mesa Public Works yard.
All proceeds will benefit the city’s Give From the Heart program, which helps seniors who qualify with their utility bills. Safford Utility customers can also contribute by rounding up their monthly bill or by adding a specified amount to their bill payment to be donated to the program.
