SAN CARLOS — Representatives of FEMA and the Small Business Administration are coming to the San Carlos Apache Reservation to help determine if residents qualify for disaster assistance stemming from last October’s flooding.
On Oct. 13, 2025, Gila and Maricopa counties suffered severe flooding as a result of Tropical Storm Raymond and Hurricane Priscilla, and Gov. Hobbs declared a state of emergency.
Homeowners, renters, businesses and even churches could qualify for disaster assistance, even with private insurance, and FEMA and the SBA will help Tribal members with that determination.
FEMA and SBA representatives will be at Gilson Wash Head Start now through Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
